Our contracts
Our bus operations feature public service and school bus contracts, in addition to commercial services. We hold three contracts for rail, including our commercial line in Värmland.
Buses
Vy Buss AS provides procured and commercial passenger transport by bus in the Swedish market to Denmark and Norway, as well as the major airports in Sweden. Commercial traffic is operated under the brands Vy Bus4You, Vy Flygbussarna (airport coaches) and Vy express.
Commercial Services business unit
Our Commercial Services business unit operates across three brands. These brands are Vy Bus4You, Vy express and Vy Flygbussarna. Vy Bus4You and Vy express operate on four routes to the largest cities in the Nordics, and serve Copenhagen, Oslo, Gothenburg, Malmö and Stockholm, among others. Vy Flygbussarna serves Sweden’s seven largest airports. In 2021, Vy’s commercial operations employed 350 personnel and utilised 90 buses to provide its services.
Contract Services business unit
Our Contract Services business unit takes care of both our publicly procured services and our school bus operations. In 2021, Vy Buss AB had approximately 1,500 employees and around 625 buses. Key partners in terms of public service contracts include Västtrafik, Jönköpings länstrafik, Skånetrafiken, X-trafik and Länstrafiken i Jämtlands län.

More about our contracts for rail
Vy has been responsible for operating local and regional services in Värmland on behalf of Värmlandstrafik AB since December 2009. All services are operated using Värmlandstrafik’s electric Regina type railcars and its Itino type diesel railcars.
We also operate commercial services between Karlstad and Örebro in order to link these two regions and create enhanced opportunities for people on the route who commute to work or education.
The contract has a duration of nine years with an option to extend by a further two years.

Vy in Sweden have their commercial traffic route between Stockholm–Karlstad and Oslo. All services are operated using Värmlandstrafik’s electric Regina type railcars.

Vy in Norway (formerly known as NSB) has operated high speed services between Gothenburg and Oslo in close partnership with Vy in Sweden since January 2005. Vy Rail Sweden operates the route in Sweden and handles all aspects of the service between Kornsjö (the station on the Norwegian border) – Gothenburg and Malmö.
This includes operational management, rail replacement services and securing all necessary permits from the Swedish safety authorities. Services are operated using the Norwegian high speed train type BM73b, which is the fastest train on the Swedish rail network with a top speed of 210 km/h. These trains are driven by Norwegian personnel on both sides of the border.
