Good to know before your train journey
Are you wondering if you can bring your bicycle, enjoy a good meal on board, or access wireless internet? Here you’ll find some practical information for your journey.
Safe and secure – for your safety and the safety of others
Traveling by train is a safe means of transport, both for the climate and for you. But there are a few things to keep in mind when traveling, for your own safety:
Never try to get on or off a moving train. It is dangerous! At some stations, arrival and departure times are very tight. If you are not going to travel by train, but still need to get on board, it is important that you notify the train staff in advance.
Try to stow away your luggage. Place your bags and other carry-on items on the shelves or in other areas designated for luggage. Do not leave them in the aisle — someone could trip and get hurt.
Trains maintain a very high level of fire safety. All interior materials have been carefully selected with fire safety in mind. If a fire occurs in your carriage, you must leave the carriage immediately, leave your luggage behind, and inform the train staff. Do not touch the emergency brake! The train will be stopped at a location where the emergency services can meet it. Our staff will, of course, assist you and your fellow passengers.
If the train comes to a stop and, for any reason, cannot continue, the onboard staff may decide to carry out an evacuation. Follow the instructions given by the staff carefully. Never step out onto a railway track or go near fallen power lines unless the onboard staff has explicitly stated that it is safe to do so.
