Accessibility on the train
On our departures between Stockholm, Karlstad and Oslo we use train type Regina. The vehicle is built with a fixed accessibility solution, which means that the number of places for wheelchairs and strollers, for example, is limited. One of the train doors has platform-level entry and an internal wheelchair lift.
- Two wheelchair spaces
- One accessible RWC/toilet
- Space for a stroller
- Free wifi with unlimited surfing
- Power sockets for charging mobile phones and computers
- Bistro
- AED/defibrillator on board
- Stop announcements and information signs
Traveling with a disability – support and rights
If you have a disability or reduced mobility, you have the right to travel by train like everyone else. You can read more about your rights in our non-discrimination terms and conditions under travel conditions, paragraph ten. You can also read the EU regulation on rail passengers' rights and obligations:

The Regina train type has a low-floor entrance from the platform as well as a wheelchair lift. This makes it easier for you to board if you use a wheelchair or powered wheelchair.
If you board on your own and carry a folded wheelchair with you, the wheelchair is considered luggage. In that case, you should place it in the train’s luggage area.
The low-floor entrance also makes it easier to bring a rollator. Your rollator must be folded and placed in the luggage area.
Visually impaired
Assistance dogs and guide dogs are allowed in all carriages, including our bistro. Your assistance dog must wear a special harness or service vest indicating that it is on duty. The dog must remain on the floor for the entire journey.
Onboard the train, there are automated audio announcements that tell you which station is coming up next. You can also speak to the onboard staff, and they can let you know when it is time to prepare for disembarking.
Hearing impaired
Onboard the trains, there are monitors displaying text information. They show, among other things, the stops for all major and medium-sized stations, as well as current train updates. There is also a hearing loop available onboard.

Assistance
If you have a disability and need assistance to or from the train, or when transferring, you can book assistance – called “ledsagning” in Swedish. The service is available at many stations and is free of charge.
The assistance staff will meet you on the platform and help you to the next part of your journey. The staff wears a yellow vest with name “Ledsagare”.
Please remember to limit your luggage to a maximum of two items with a total weight of no more than 20 kg.

Accessibility at the station
The majority of the Swedish railway stations in Sweden are owned by Jernhusen. The stations are equipped with – among other things – elevators and well-arranged platform areas. There are also tactile information boards with train information.
